Microblading is a form of semi-permanent make-up carried out using a hand piece tool, comprised of ultra fine needles. These enable us to implant crisp hair-like strokes into the epidermis of the skin (upper layer), with a medical grade pigment.
Microblading is semi-permanent compared to original tattoo methods which use a machine with ink. This method can cause pigment to migrate and spread out under the skin as it the ink goes deeper, and doesn't fade over time as pigment does. Microblading is therefore an effective way to create realistic results which fade over time. It is important to understand that Microblading is not suitable for all clients. Those with mature, thin, or oily skin types would benefit most from the Ombre Brows.
After the initial procedure a top-up is recommended for optimal results. A top-up may be needed around 6 weeks post procedure, to reinforce the pigment, make any necessary tweaks and perfect the brows. This top-up is included in the price, should you require this.
Immediately after the procedure, the pigment is 30-50% darker than the final result. This darkness will last for the first 1-2 weeks, being fully healed at 4 weeks. There is no downtime associated with the procedure, meaning clients can go back to work immediately, however we do ask that our clients avoid certain activities such as high levels of sun exposure for the first 7-10 days. This is all detailed in the written instructions provided!
The Microblading treatment may be uncomfortable for some clients, for this reason a numbing cream is recommended for application before you come in for your appointment (30 mins - 1 hour). We will also use a secondary numbing agent part way though the treatment (approx 10 mins into the process), you shouldn't feel much at all after this. Treatment can take up to an hour and a half - so we work hard to ensure your comfort for the duration of the treatment.
Semi-permanent makeup is not suitable for pregnant women or nursing mothers, and cannot be applied to anyone under the age of 18.
Hairstroke is the traditional Microblading treatment, and gives the most natural effect, however many clients prefer to add shading for a Combination Brow effect, to add density and create a more filled in look.

Some clients prefer a more full/defined look than Microblading is able to provide. To cater to all brow needs, we therefore also offer Combination Brows! Clients with particularly oily skin, and patch hair loss through the brows will be better suited to the Combination Brows - however if you are unsure which you'd prefer, please don't panic we can go through all of this at the consultation to find the best brow solution for you!
The Combination Brow combines the 'Ombré Brow' effect with gorgeous fluffy Microblading strokes!! This technique is ideal for clients with more sparse brows, anyone who loves the makeup effect, but also plenty of visible brow hairs.
For shading/the make-up effect alone, with no strokes our Ombré Brow treatment is the answer to your prayers...
Combination Brows - Before & After
The Ombré Brows are one of the most popular techniques in the semi-permanent makeup industry.
The Ombré Brow is not only the perfect technique for creating a natural looking brow but can be tailored to suit the needs for each individual client.
Ombré Brows are designed to create a soft looking wax and tint effect brow. Rather than using a block colour throughout the entire brow as many of you will associate with 'powder brows', the ombre brows technique is done using a diluted colour at the front of the brow and then slowly increasing in density to produce a darker colour through the tail of the brow. This results in a soft, powdery finish which heals beautifully behind the natural brows, and can also be used on clients with no brow hairs at all. Ombré brows are amazing for clients with super oily skin, who struggle for their skin to retain pigments with Microblading, and also mature skin types as the technique is more gentle on the skin!!
The Ombré Brow technique will heal to reveal very natural, beautiful results which should last for 2+ years when the aftercare is carried out correctly, though we recommend top-ups once the brows are over 50% faded for maintenance of results.
Another benefit of Ombré Brows, is the ability to cover up and disguise previous pigmentation from old/discoloured SPMU.
